Outreach

Engaging with the community has had a huge role in shaping me into the scientist I am today. I would never have considered a career in science without the examples and support that many scientists have provided me, and I enjoy paying their generosity forward.

Public Outreach

Service

Talking about astronomy with the public brings me a lot of joy! I have participated as a panel member for Caltech astronomy's Stargazing Lecture multiple times, worked for Skype a Scientist, and even helped a Daisy Troop get their space explorer badges! I am always looking for more opportunities to engage with the community and promote science.

I have served on the Caltech Graduate Student Council for 2 years now as a student representative and chair of the Housing and Securities Committee. I have advocated for a safe environment for students on campus and in campus-owned housing and worked to combat bike thefts and break-ins on campus

I have been an active member of my division's diversity working group here at Caltech, as well as President and Treasurer of the Women in Geology and Planetary Sciences group. Together with my peers we have created documents on outstanding diversity issues within our division and possible solutions, designed a first year mentorship program, and trainings for grad student mentors and faculty.
